In my 25 years as a Nurse Practitioner in Virginia I have relied heavily on the Virginia Department of Health (including local offices) and the CDC to help me protect my patients from deadly diseases such as measles, tuberculosis, meningitis, pneumonia, influenza and others including Covid-19. Primary strategies for that protection include patient education and vaccinations.
On November 30 2021 Virginia 6th Congressional District Republican Representative Ben Cline voted NO against passing the Immunization Infrastructure Modernization Act of 2021.
This bill expands CDC and public health department capabilities in the form of improving immunization information systems technology that help health care providers like me to protect children and families from some of these diseases through certain mandatory vaccines (Virginia mandates certain vaccines for children to enter school) and to provide education and assist the patients to make informed decisions about their health care.
There is NOTHING in the bill about the Covid vaccine or other perceived vaccine threats.
Unfortunately, Ben Cline voted against this bill that would help health care providers take care of their patients. Ben Cline voted NO in the middle of a worldwide pandemic where approximately 2613 people from his congressional district have died from Covid-19. Obviously, Ben Cline does not care for his constituents like I care for my patients.
